if you take omeprazole at night, and it has to be on empty stomach, how long after eating show you wait to take it? it lasts 24 hours?

Acid Awareness: Omeprazole, like other proton pump inhibitors which reduce acid production, is advised to be taken on an empty stomach.  This is to improve absorption by the body during a time when acid secretion is actually not desired, i.e. Sleep.  Taking it 90 to 150 minutes after a large or fatty meal would be ideal.  Eating within three hours of bedtime is never advisable on acid suppression therapy.

can omeprazole and calcium citrate/d3 be taken at same time or does the omeprazole need to be separated? for all of the above, are they best taken on an empty stomach or with food? i take levothyroxine in a.m 1 hr before breakfast on empty stomach?

Yes: You can take too much of anything.  Follow the directions regarding dosing.  Eliminate onions, tomatoes, and garlic from your diet as these foods trigger heartburn.  Also consider cut down on wheat and meat consumption and only eating grass feed beef.

A few weeks: I normally give it 1-2 weeks before increasing the do age. Try some Tums (calcium carbonate) and non greasy, non fried, bland foods.

Omeprazole: Not sure what u meant by "involuntarily" & what symptoms u r having, but Omeprazole would not hurt, and if stomach symptoms persist, see your primary care doc.

Give it six weeks: if you're still having pain from GERD this long after starting a PPI like omeprazole, you will probably need an endoscopy to evaluate your stomach esophagus and duodenum

: Have you been adequately evaluated, preferably by a gastroenterologist, for your abdominal distress especially if this is a rather new symptom?  I'm concerned that this symptom is not simply part of an irritable bowel syndrome. At your age I think it's important to clarify the cause of your abdominal discomfort.  Linzess is best taken in the AM on an empty stomach. Are thesemeds ceffective for you

thyroxine i'm taking irritates my stomach and causes gastritis.i have to take omeprazole with it to stop the irritation is this ok?

Yes: taking the omeprazole is fine, but check with your doctor to see if there is another medication option that may not be so hard on your stomach.
