Yes: Of course.  Gout does not prevent you from doing activities such as walking.  However, if you have an acute flare-up with a red, swollen toe, for example, the pain may limit you - in that case, taking certain medications for gout and pain medications as recommended by your doctor should help.

i have been exercising with fast paced walk 40mins a day.. now my toe is feeling pain as if gout is gonna flair up. is this normal?

Many possibilities: Toe pain could result from different reasons, of which may include: trauma (fracture, tendon or ligamentous tear, arthritis), infection, metabolic conditions (gout) musculoskeletal or biomechanical abnormality, or neurologic conditions (neuropathy). A thorough history and physical exam and possibly laboratory and radiology exams could determine the cause.  If symptoms persist get it evaluated.

my dad was recently diagnosed with gout. had a flare up so bad in his legs he can't walk. are there any home remedies that will help relieve the pain ?

Yes: try warm soaks with epsom salt and an antiinflaamatory,if he doesn't improve he should see a foot surgeon or rheumatologist who will start him on gout medication such as colchicine and indomethacin. then when the flare up is over he will keep him on a medication that will regulate him and prevent flare ups like allopurinol

i have gout and cannot hardly walk.
its been this way for almost a year. what can i do? stiff legs in the morning.it lets up some thur the day.but never stop hurting hurting  sos !

What : What makes you think you have gout?  Gout almost always involves only one joint (at a time), and while exceedingly painful, even without treatment it goes away in a week or less.  It's hallmark symptom is sudden (and i mean, to the minute) onset of severe pain, redness, heat and swelling of one joint.  For reasons we still don't know, it likes smaller joints, and the classic joint is the big toe joint, but i've seen gout in the heel, side of the foot and even the ankle.  It sometimes can affect a joint in the hand, but it almost is unheard of for it to affect larger joints like knees, hips, shoulders, etc. (there is a similar condition called pseudogout, which tends to affect larger joints, though).

Gout patients don't describe their pain as "stiff in the morning."  the liken it to the spanish inquisition or say it feels like they're giving birth through their big toe.  And it doesn't "let up" during the day.

So for these reasons, based on your description, i really wonder whether you really have gout.

If a doctor told you this, i'd say get a second opinion, preferably from a rheumatologist.

Arthritis: This could be arthritis, which includes gout; it could also be just a painful bunion.  Your age and how long the pain has been present will help determine the cause.  Also is the pain better in shoes or when you are barefoot.

Nothing: Diet has little effect. High uric acid is most often an inherited issue. If you have gout you need to be on allopurinol to normalize your serum uric acid and prevent further attacks.

Need more info: is it red and hot to touch. did you injure it?
need to know medical status?
could be gout, but without knowing medical conditions or history, tough to dx.
