Yes: If you have a condition that causes swelling in the knee, the compromised circulation will lead to swelling in the foot also.  See your vascular doctor or gp for a checkup.

The : The fact that this has been happening every morning for about a month leads me to believe that something worrisome is going on in your ankle and/or the ligaments that support it. You should see your primary care provider for an examination and possibly imaging studies. In the meantime use an ace bandage (not too tight) to support your ankle, rest it, ice it, and keep it elevated as much as possible.

Ankle sprain: With any severe ankle injury you will develop swelling.  Because of gravity a lot of the swelling can end up in the foot which can limit the amount of range of motion in your toes.

I would wait : It out and see after a few hours when the medicine wears off. It can be completely normal.

Start of arthritis: The symptoms you complain of are often caused by arthritis of the ankle . A condition where the cartilage surface of the joint is compromised.

You should see an orthopedic surgeon and get examined and have at least an X-ray done. .

Swelling after DVT: When you have a deep venous thrombosis (clot, dvt), it causes damage to the valves in the veins of your leg. This results in allowing the fluid that is circulating from your leg to your heart to have back flow, and this can cause swelling down to your ankles. This is a quite common complication of having a dvt, and unfortunately, it can occur whether you were treated or not.

i sprained my ankle about 2 weeks ago, it doesn't hurt when i walk, i can put weight on my injured leg and i've been exercising it, but it's still swollen and still hurts a bit when i move my ankle up or down, and i can't squat. is it normal?
