No: Extreme thirst can dry out the back of your esophagus but should not cause significant pain. If you have pains you might have an infection either bacterial or fungal (thrush).

Viral vs. bacterial: The condition may be tonsillitis or pharyngitis (if you have no tonsills). Usually viral, but strep throat is a common thing as well. Usually presents without cough, but may cause fever and swollen lymph nodes. If plain tylenol/ibuprofen fails to help and especially if fever lasts >3 days, go see you doc.

i have a big problem... i am not an adult and i accidently swallowed a water bottle cap with water my throat hurts a bit and i feel like trouble breathing but can breathe kinda fine what should i do?

: Your symptoms after swallowing a bottle cap merit an immediate visit to a hospital Emergency Dept for an exam, including X-Rays to determine the location of the foreign body (bottle cap). A consult by a gastroenterologist,  pulmonologist or otolaryngologist might be needed, based upon the location of the object, to decide on its removal. Finally, technically, you're an adult.

sore throat when drinking water, swallowing. ear also hurts when doing this. otherwise it just feels irritant not painful. only right side. no symptoms eating. x-ray showed nothing. like this for 8 weeks. what other test to discuss with doctor?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably and ENT doctor.

my throat is really painful if i gulp water or other drink. normal swallowing is fine. it's not a sore throat type pain but it feels intense.

Sore throat : If you have any other signs and symptoms of a cold, then you could have an infection. If not an infection, then the next most like problem is reflux. Try an anti reflux med like over the counter Pepcid ac or zantac (ranitidine).   Longer term you can take Prilosec (omeprazole) once or twice a day. Try this first for a week then see a doctor if no improvement   good luck.

Home remedies: You can gargle w aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey ; a small amt of lemon juice helps. For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician ; get a strep throat test ; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for strep throat.

Aphthous ulcer: Can be a viral ulcer, usually goes away on its own over a few days to a week.  If it doesn't you should have it looked at, possible biopsy.

See Dr: Need an exam and a swallowing study--either by a speech therapist or by a radiologist, depending on your exam and history. Do not put this off, it can cause many problems and may be reflective of a problem itself.

Red throat: It sounds like a throat infection.  Gargling very hot water may help soothe your throat. You should consider seeing an ENT doctor.

: Acid reflux can explain your symptoms. if you are overweight, losing weight is imperative. It would be prudent to consult a GI doctor.
