Depersonalization is the feeling that your thoughts and feelings are unreal, like coming from a robot, or just seeming very strange to you.   Have you been sick lately, or are you taking any drugs (look for interactions or overdose)?   Depersonalization is most classically associated with sever mental illness, so check with a doc.

It depends: First, one needs to know the cause of the depersonalization.  It can come along with other psychiatric conditions such as anxiety disorders, some depressions,  some psychotic disorders, and with certain kinds of substance abuse. If present, these need to be treated by a psychiatrist and/or psychotherapist.  On your own, you can do some form of physical exercise; meditation; seek out friendships.

Deliberate work: As a symptom alone, depersonalization can occur in many psychiatric conditions such as anxiety, ptsd, and depression.  It can also happen in the context of intense stress like war, rape, accidents, etc.  As a separate disorder it's more rare -- and requires intensive psychotherapy for recovery (which is possible). If depression & anxiety are strong, medications can help the psychotherapy along too.
