: Diabetes can be the cause for neuropathy but only when the disease is obvious and has been detected/ present for 10-20 years. Your symptoms are likely due to some other neurological disorder which should be further investigated by your PCP or with opinion from a Neurologist.

Take it easy: Usually it is due to excessive force and irritation. Causes hyperpigmentation of the skin. Usually left alone, it can come back to normal skin color in 3 to 6 months. However, a dermatologist looking at it will be of more help.

The cold sore is due: To a herpes  simplex type 1 infection. The lump under your jaw may be lymph node which has become inflammed in reaction to the cold sore.  See your doctor if your sxs worsen.

Find a vein: It is unusual for professionals providing medical care, to be unable to find a vein for an iv.  When necessary, alternate veins such as the jugular vein are used.

diabetes insipidus is an exception as it does have a specific history.Di most commonely associated with severe tbi and basilar skull fractureand cranial nerve involvement, craniofacial trauma, and post cardiopulmonary arrest.
Delayed onset of di isassociated with post pitutary lesi.

Start with your PCP: Without a more thorough history and physical exam, my first suspicion would be C2 cervical radiculopathy, but a scalp and supplying cutaneous nerve disorder like early shingles must be considered, so a careful search for a rash would be important. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy would not be a likely consideration given the long nerves of the lower extremities being the more likely site of onset.

PREGNANCY: Looks like you gained a lot of weight. Ask OB   if there is a problem with normal delivery. Pelvic ultrasound helps.
