Hemoglobin of 7?: Assuming you mean your hemoglobin is 7.0, i'm guessing that your hematocrit (the percentage of your blood that's made of red cells) is roughly 21. Normal is somewhere between 35 and 45. First, find out why your red blood cell count is low. You either aren't making enough red cells - or you are losing them somehow. It's not uncommon to lose blood through bowel movements without knowing it!

Unlikely: The normal hemoglobin for an adult female is between 11.5 and 14.0. Yours was down to 4.6. Each unit of blood will raise the hemoglobin around 1.0 gm% of hemoglobin. So six units should get you greater than 10.0. It is not dangerous in amount. I question the rate at which is was given. Most hospitals would have given six units of blood over 24-36 hours. Not 20 hours. But maybe you were bleeding.

Common: Relatively common. You will need to be on iron replacement and establish with obs-gyn. In case your iron remains low after few weeks of replacement you will need work-up for congenital causes of anemia and malabsorption.

Low iron: For some reason your iron stores are low - ferritin is the "iron warehouse" of the body. Either u are losing iron (heavy periods?) or not getting enough in your diet. Some vegetarians for example don't eat enough foods with iron in them. Certainly u need this problem to be solved because iron is essential for blood cell production and anemia is no fun. Hopefully your primary doc can figure it out.

Not dangerous: A single Methotrexate dose has very low risk.

how dangerous is going over max hr? after 10 mins walking mine was over 200. (i'm anemic) but usualy really fit. will high hr increase calories burnt?

See a doctor: Either you are VERY anemic, not counting your heart rate correctly, pushing yourself to an extreme, or in an abnormal heart rhythm. A rate of 200 in a healthy young adult, is generally not achievable. You need to see a doctor right away. Hopefully you'll find your heart wasn't beating 200 times/minute but if it was you've got a problem that needs attention.

More info needed: Patients with sickle cell anemia have greater tendency for severe anemia and infection.  Usually children have more difficulties.  Sometimes frequent transfusion is needed to assist in crises, or to suppress sickle hemoglobin and decrease sickling issues which can  be very painful.  Hydroxyurea is used to help symptoms and to increase fetal hemoglobin, vaccinations, and antibiotics help.  See  MD.

You need a good doct: What is your blood count? Anemia can cause breathing difficulty if it severe(hemoglobin under 9 gms). Low platelets are a serious issue , you should seek consultation with a hematologist(blood specialist) to help you to sort it out.

FInd cause: Your physician owes a duty to you to answer these questions. Are you iron deficient? If so, is it from your diet (vegetarian?) or are you losing blood? The thrombocytosis suggests it. Is the rouleaux real or a lab overread? (the latter is common.) do you in fact have thalassemia minor? A look at the smear and indices should give a presumptive answer. Iron deficiency warns of possible latent bad dz.
