I would be concerned: That dettol liquid antiseptic /disinfectant could cause irritation and change vaginal ph.

hi. my question is in the past week i've started bathing in a tub and i add dettol to the bath water, my v started swelling around the clito and its very itchy. what's wrong with me? i've had v thrush before and i don't know if it came again.

May be reaction: Your genital skin is more sensitive to some chemical agents. You may be having a skin sensitivity to the Dettol and it would be reasonable to avoid it until you can sort that out. The yeast of thrush are not a common reaction to bathing.

No: Dettol contains a toxic agent. It is an anti-septic. The bore water may contain pesticides and  other pollutants that are toxic not necessarily bacteria or other micro-organiisms. Best not to bathe in bore water that is causing hair loss.

Yes,  : This product is a skin cleanser and can also be used on environmental contacts. Repeated use on the skin may cause some irritation, but occasional use on the penis can be tolerated.  Doctors use similar products before doing surgical procedures or inserting a catheter in the urethral.

Infections: Have no idea what you mean by "water infections".  There are numerous diseases that can be transmitted to humans thru contaminated water. The active ingredient in dettol that confers its antiseptic property is chloroxylenol which should not be taken by humans as it has potentially lethal toxicity.  It can be used in contaminated water, but then you could not drink the water.

Chemical burn: You have a chemical burn from the liquid.
If you have washed it thoroughly, then you have done what needed to be done--but net time do it sooner.
ASA or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for discomfort, will heal in 10-14 days.
If any signs of infection, DR visit

NO: Throw away this useless and sometimes toxic product. Clean yourself with Aveeno, (oatmeal) Eucerin, or other moisturizer lotion.
