Depends on the rash: If it is an allergic rash or itchy, consider Allegra or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (but might make you tired). A steroid cream may work if it looks like eczema. A fungal rash can look very similar to eczema in certain cases and steroid cream would make it worse.  I would consult your physician to try to figure out the cause of this rash. I avoid Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream.

Yes,  but...: The Allegra (fexofenadine) is a long acting, non-sedating anti-histimine.  If the itching hasn't been controlled, it is ok to take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) which is a short acting and sedating anti-histimine- so be aware of the potential for drowsiness.....Limit the Benadryl to one or two tablets per day, if continuing the allegra (fexofenadine).

Follow up: Dermatitis that is resistant to all of these treatments should probably be evaluated by a dermatologist.

i recently had an allergic reaction to a new detergent, resulting in a rash on my back, chest, and arms.  cortisone cream seemed to work, but i still have a small lingering rash.  i was wondering if pepcid with loratadine or zyrtec/allegra would work?

: If you just avoid that detergent and avoid wearing any clothes that were washed in it this should self heal. I try to avoid using the pharmacy when the body itself can sort things out. Just keep the skin clean &amp; all should be well within 3-4 weeks.

Safe ???: Lamisil is safe and effective when used appropriately &amp; was deemed so by the food &amp; drug administration back when it was only available by prescription. After years of use, its track record allowed it to be released to the general public. Any med that is strong enough to help will have side effects in some people. I find it a safe med. Lotramin is another antifungal that is usually effective.
