NotTheBCP;YrBehavior: Fatty foods  and protein will get in the way of absorption, so have a big juicy steak with a side of cheese sticks and ice cream for dessert. Carbohydrates, carbonation and an empty stomach will increase absorption. But hey, I know what you're getting at and I bet nothing will work for you tonight (New Year's Eve). From one to four drinks in an hour will get you busted if you drive. Be careful...

Nexplanon: Nexplanon is your primary birth control.  The rationale in  using condoms is to prevent STD transmission. You can drink alcohol with Nexplanon.

Fluconazole: Fluconazole does not affect birth control. Alcohol consumption does not need to be restricted after single dose Fluconazole. The half life of one dose is 30 hours.

can i drink alcohol during the holidays while on the medication eliquis for my blood clot? i solely got the clot due to a 20 hour flight/being on apri at the time and have since stopped taking that form of birth control?

: Unfortunately, the manufacturer of Eliquis (Apixiban) lists alcohol use as a risk factor for increased bleeding/hemorrhaging while on anticoagulation. I imagine this to include heavier menstrual cycles. If Apri is the provoking factor for the blood clot, any and all forms of estrogen should be avoided. Continued contraception with progesterone-only containing methods are advised.

Fluconazole: Fluconazole can be mixed with alcohol; no need to avoid drinking. And it will have no effect on birth control. (It's often said that antibiotics make low dose hormonal contraceptions ineffective. It's an urban myth:  extremely rare if ever, with any antibiotic.

Medications: There is no interaction between Ashylna and fluconazole. Alcohol (ethanol)  is the toxic waste product of a fungus and toxic to our bodies. It has addictive qualities. I recommend that my patient avoid alcohol.
