Plantar fascitiis: Usually bothers someone on first standing and eases up as they walk. With a good orthotic while tenderness is certainly possible , discomfort may in fact not be present. It will start up again afterwards. Night splints are helpful to keep the fascia stretched while sleeping.

Yes: There is no evidence that would suggest you should not exercise with plantar fasciitis.  In fact with proper stretching regimen prior to exercise, your symptoms of heel pain may improve.

See below: Stretching exercises, more supportive shoes, massage, physical therapy as well as supportive shoes and orthotics often are helpful. A running/walking shoe or sneaker is best.

fascia will help this type of problem. 
I believe that stretching is probably the most important
factor in treatment of plantar fasciitis.

Shoe Inserts: Many different inserts can be of help. Superfeet is one such brand. If off the shelf inserts don't help, custom orthoses from a podiatrist are sometimes needed--these can be expensive and often not covered by health insurance. Best not to go barefoot or wear flipflops.

None: Most sandals lack proper support and cushioning. If you insist on a sandal you need one with at least a 1/2 inch heel.

...de-conditioning..: 40 y/o male says I had plantar fasciitis a while I suspect not healing because I brisk walk a lot. Can i lose on 1500 calorie diet without exercise? because heel needs to heal. There are gel implants/supports/orthotics to decrease the plantar pressures of walking. A good Podiatrist can also help. Yes diet could help with weight loss depending on one's usual weight/diet. Careful w de-conditioning

: Sorry the podiatrist was not helpful. Confused why not?? It is difficult to say if any given shoe will help with plantar fasciitis. It would be a trial and error. You would have to try the shoe. High arched feet make this more difficult to control. Custom orthotic is your best odds at helping your pain with high arch foot. Shoes break down orthotics do not. Last for many years.
