Calcium in "spots": Is usually old inflammatory change which may have been a nodule at some point.  A tissue density without calcium would be called a nodule, and may be a cancer.

when there is a nodule on the thyroid which has calcium in it if surgery is required is only the nodule being taking out or its the thyroid too?

: You need to ask your surgeon whaat the procedure is that is being done. If only the nodule is removed, you may not need thyroid hormone replacement therapy but if the whole thyroid is removed, you will need lifelong thyroid replacement therapy. So, call your surgeon and ask this question. Good luck to you!

Parathyroid likely: When high calcium levels are seen, an apparent thyroid nodule is actually an intrathyroidal parathyroid gland.

Parathyroid: Hard to answer your question.  Is your doctor wondering about hyperparathyroidism? If so, the ca is high (10.1 is borderline), the PTH is high, and a parathyroid nodule/tumor may be seen on u/s or sestamibi scan.  But sometimes this is not clear.  Your doc (endocrinologist) may want to check your ionized ca, vit d level, your 24 hr urine ca excretion, go over your meds, look for other causes.

serum calcium levels out of range ref (10.2) mine were 10.2, 10.5, 10.3 over the past six months. endo did tests and have normal thyroid function w/9 nodules.hetero thyroid, says not primaryhpt, should i check for something else or is this okay?

: I wonder if you were tested for ionized calcium, phosphorus, and urine calcium as well.  Is there family history of hypercalcemia?
If you had normal level of ionized calcium and phosphorus, mildly elevated calcium levels are likely to be insignificant.

: Without knowing your history or seeing the scan, it is impossible to give you accurate guidance. You need to speak with the physician that ordered the scan to discuss next steps for further diagnosis &amp; management.

High Clcium: Check with your local lab normals. And ask team who ordered rd it they know H better. Scan no likely to show parathyroids.

Probably not: Your physician will address the nodule, perhaps by having a needle biopsy performed. If your calcium is more than very slightly above reference range, and you're not just dehydrated, this deserves a lab workup to be sure you're not walking around with hyperparathyroidism which can make you quite sick. The high TSH also needs evaluation. All three are quite treatable.

i have an elevated pth with  normal calcium. i also have multiple lung nodules. i now have swelling in my lymph area near the collarbone area?

Get evaluated: You have many findings that warrant further workup.  Elevated PTH may be due to a functioning parathroid adenoma.  An ENT can do that workup for you.  The lung nodules are worrisome and require further workup as well.  May be a completely separate medical issue.  You may need a ct guided biopsy of one of the lung nodules to sort this out.  Seek professional help.
