had a hard hit to my knee four days ago. had pain on the side/outside of my knee, there's brusing there. gp did xrays which showed no broken bones, but i keep getting shooting pain through my knee, my whole lower leg keeps going tight and i keep gett?

Might be: tear of meniscus or strain of ligament.  If it is just a contusion, it should improve in about 10-14 days.  If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, you should go back to your doctor for more tests.

i wore a tight knee brace all night.  now my lower leg and foot are swollen.  no pain or tingling.  keeping it elevated, but not getting better?

Ultrasound Review: Acute swelling symptoms, one should be concerned about deep venous thrombosis.   This life threatening problem can be determined on physical exam and a focus venous ultrasound examination by a physician skill in treating venous disease.  Check out the american venous forum or american college of phlebology. I recommend review.

can a knee brace cause some mild leg pain after wearing it most of day? its a new compression brace and kinda tight and covers part of my leg too in addition to my knee. it seems to quit hurting after having the brace off for a bit. thank u

No, It cannot : A Brace Knee is a tool in managing the discomfort of the knee. There are many risks when using a brace like skin irritation or swelling, stiffness, pain; many of the risks are related to a poor fit.  I recommend you visit an Orthopedic Surgeon, whose will make a physical examination and consider if the Knee brace is useful for you and then will assist you in a well-positioned of the knee brace.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and call: Use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help with the rash symptoms for the here and now.    Stop using the brace and call your physician.

what is the best knee brace for pfs for softball? it needs to be able to stand sliding and lots of running and squating. should i wear on both knees?

Patellofemoral pain: The best brace is no brace.  Making sure that your hip abductors and vastus medialis are strong.  Also making sure that your patellar mobilization is good by stretching the lateral retinaculum is paramount.  In the short term consider mcconnell or kinesio-taping.  Bracing will serve no great purpose if you haven't done the above first.
