i have a sunburn on the side of my nose that's a bit dented in compared to the rest of my nose. what should i do and should i be concerned? thanks?

: For immediate relief, apply cool moist towel. Pat dry,apply aloe. Drink plenty of fluids. The face has a great blood supply to achieve healing. I hope this helps.

is sunburn the only reason you should avoid sunlight while taking doryx (doxycycline)?

Yes: A small percentage of patients can develop a photo toxic reaction to the sun with severe burning and blistering to exposed areas, especially hands and face.  Plus, no amount of sun is safe and if you are taking Doryx (doxycycline) for acne, the acne that resolves is going to want to tan 10x faster than normal skin and you will be left with brown polka dots on your face if you don't avoid the sun.

how do i stop my face from peeling after sunburn? & if it peels will it be a lighter shade of the rest of my face?

You can't: use sunscreen &amp; a hat. avoid prolonged exposure and mid day exposure. Sunburn risks future skin cancer and  causes wrinkles and hyperpigmentation

my skin is peeling after a blistering sunburn. should i rub off the loose skin and leave the rest alone or just leave my skin alone entirely?

Accepted Answer

Don't rub: any blister.  Best just to moisturize the skin wel with lotion (aloe will also help the pain)l, otherwise let it alone, keep away from sun and let dead skin come off naturally in the shower.  Use high SPF sunscreen in future.

sometimes my skin will be painful to the touch for no apparent reason. usually my arms. no rash, no sunburn. what could this be?

Painful skin: The only condition that i know of the causes painful or senstive skin difusely (all over) is fibromyalgia. While other neurologic conditions could do through injured nerves (eg., like multiple sclerosis, diabetes, etc), these conditions affect a few areas of the body, but not all over.

i got sunburned yesterday and now i have a headache, my hands are shakey and my heart is beating fast even at rest. what is going on?

Mild heat stroke: you probbly suffered a mild heat stroke when you wear out in the sun .
Stay cool , Hydrate , by drinking plenty of juices &amp; fluids , NOT soda . rest . Take cool showers . Apply ALOE to your skin to ease thepain . use NSAID for pain . it should resolvein 24-36 hours . if not, go to urgent care .

think i missed a spot w/spf, got weird streaky burn. no blister or peeling but now the same spot is bruised for no reason. can sunburns bruise?

Sure: When you burn your skin you are destroying and injuring it so some level of bruising is possible. Good luck if it worsens please get checked by your doctor

You need a work up: The list is to long.  It could be your anemia, hormones from the cyst, depression, insomnia, etc.  You need a general work up.  In addition what type of anemia and why the shooting pains.

couldn't swallow iron tablet (325mg) for some reason, kept it in mouth until crumbled then chewed the rest, drank a lot of water. is this bad?? scared

Iron tab: No, not bad. Iron can upset your stomach, so tabs are coated. But iron comes as liquid for children and adults, and it is not harmful or hurtful.  Absorption of iron is only 10-20 percent.

Not unusual: You have burned the skin and the bodies response is to swell.  You may want to see a doctor.
