can blepharitis cause pain on your eyelids? i know blepharitis causes redness and irritation, but can it also cause pain?

The : The most commons symtpoms with blepharitis is itching of the eyelid and burning or irritation in the eye.  Pain may represent the progression to developing a stye, or a chalazion on the eyelid.  A stye is usually less painful and can be treated with antibiotic ointments.  A chalazion is an inflammatory nodule that develops in the eyelid.  If you have pain it is best to see your eye doctor.

Dermatitis: Most commonly, something is causing the irritation--either cleanser, makeup, lotion or creams.  Try to think of what you may be using that  could be causing irritation.  Sometimes this is something that you have been using for a while.  Excessive tearing, or moist skin can also dry out and cause irritated skin..

Dermaitis: I use a mild steroid cream to lids at night time, Hydrocortisone cream1% , can be bought over the counter. If after a week worsens need to see a doctor.

Exam needed: It may be an infection/ inflammation of the eye lid that requires warm water soaks and an antibacterial ointment or corticosteroid ointment that is suitable for eyes. I recommend an examination by an ophthalmologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

black spot on lower inner eyelid.it is only visible when i pull the lower eyelid down. what could it be? no pain or irritation.

Have it checked: While many pigment spots on the eyelid or inner conjunctiva tissue can be benign or safe, some, just like changes anywhere on the skin,  can be serious and need treatment. Best to have it examined by an eye MD &amp; get some photos so the area can be compared over time if that&#x27;s necessary too. Also, protect the eyes from ultraviolet damage &amp; risks by using quality UV protection sunglasses.

Pruritis: Severe itching, also known as pruritis, can come from many causes, including  seasonal allergies, hay fever, asthma, eczema, diabetes, 
 hiv/aids, and various types of cancer. Pregnant women and the elderly can also get it, but that's not you.
Start by seeing an allergist, as allergy would be the most common cause in your age group.

Sunburn: Sunburn dries out the skin, and in the case of the thin delicate skin on your eyelids, can be flaking and itchy.  Start with cool damp compresses, even cucumber slices if you are inclined, then follow up with a thick moisturizer - petroleum jelly or cold cream to keep moisture in.

Baby shampoo: is designed to be gentle to the eye and eyelids. In fact, we usually recommend that our patients with blepharitis use dilute baby shampoo to gently clean their eyelids. Take care.

in morning an eyelash got into my lower eyelid and its night now but it is still there . i have no irritation but should i just leave it there so that it will leave on its own or do something about it?

: Use an eye wash or squirt warm water over area. Have a friend or loved one with gentle hands try to remove it with a tweezer.

i have black scar spots inside my eyelids outer corner. mild irritation sometimes and dryness feeling sometimes. what is the exact reason?is this due makeup kajal or something else?plz suggest remedy?dr says due to makeup. what should i do now?

: It is possible that the makeup has done a tattoo in that area, if the symptoms are minimal, give it time and use artificial tears frequently to help if there is irritation. An ophthalmology exam also will help to exclude other problems.
