Main difference: IT'S more expensive!  The least expesive (and generally best absorbed in most cases is good"old fashined" Ferrous sulphate! Hope this helps

Very similar: Hematology refers to blood disorders, both benign and malignant. Oncology refers to malignant diseases, some of which are blood related malignant diseases. Most training programs in the us are joint hematology and oncology programs.  Most community based physicians consider themselves hematologist-oncologists. In many academic centers physicians specialize in one area or the other.

Try looking online: Years ago, listings were available only in printed form. By the turn of the century, lists had become available online everywhere. Now, some lists are only online, and no longer printed. County medical societies (or other local medical societies), hospitals, and insurance companies usually list doctors by name, group, insurance plans, and location. Look under Ophthalmology or Ophthalmologist.

It could: I am not sure i understand the question. Low HGB can certainly lead to fatigue due to low oxygen delivery, especially if quite low. What is the potential link to infection? Are you asking about a true rbc infection such as malaria?

Gastritis: Those findings indicate a marked and extensive  inflammation of the lining of the stomach with bleeding(hemorrhagic gastritis). Biopsies were taken to look for the specific type of pathology. The gastroenterologist will prescribe appropriate medications and give you dietary instructions including abstinence from alcohol and caffeine. Avoid nicotine, if h. Pylori is found, antibiotics will be neede

Priorities: Heme is another way of saying "blood".  This is commonly seen with ulcers and gastritis.  I would be most concerned with your family history of gastric cancer, however.  Any ulcers in your stomach should be biopsied, and you should be checked for a bacterial infection called h pylori.  These can both be associated with gastric cancer.  Ask your gastroenterologist.

Recheck labs: It is very difficult for a person to have high iron if he does not take iron-containing supplements and doesn't have a hereditary or genetic disorder where his body holds onto iron inside the liver. People with that disorder get liver damage. One can recheck the tests, which is not just the iron level, but also ferritin, transferrin, and transferrin saturation. A doctor can discuss the results.
