From out side colon: Any enlargement along the path of colon can cause extrensic pressure, a large utrine fibroid, ovarin cyst ext, your doctor will do more work up like ct scan, even a giagnostic laporoscopy , speak to your doctor who has more information than you gave.

if any foreign body starts to erode/pierce/penetrate intestinal wall, will there definitely be inflammation, & thus persistent pain /discomfort? how?

From out side colon: Any enlargement of an organ along the path of colon can cause extrensic pressure, his doctor will do additional tests like ct scan  etc  and  even a diagnostic laporoscopy to find the cause like abscess cyst , some times retroperotonial tumors etc , speak to his doctor with your husband's permission  who has more information than you gave.

Not enough informati: But he could have inflammation ion the wall of the colon such as would be seen with diverticulitis or colitis or he could have extrinsic compression of the bowel wall from something external to the colon. Need to discuss with endoscopist and ask what the next diagnostic test or treatment is.

Unlikely: Red material in the stool may be from items in your diet.  The first step is to confirm the presence of blood in your stool by a simple stool test.  Ibs (irritable bowel syndrome), is not associated with blood in the stool.

my child is 11 height 4 9' weighs a ct. scan of  abdomen showed intestinal wall inflammation.. anemic 9.2  and constipation what can it be?

More testing needed: The anemia is worrisome for a more serious, chronic problem like inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, crohn's) although those are more likely to cause diarrhea.  Follow up with a pediatric  gastroenterologist will be improtant.

Yes: Ileitis also called Crohn Disease is associated with mucosal inflammation and in some cases abscess formation. You can sometimes expect rectal seepage that can contain bacteria. I hope you are under the care of a gastroenterologist as this can turn out to be more than a simple illness.

Colitis: IT may be non specific but it may represent an inflammatory issue.  A GI follow up may be warranted and possible colonoscopy

Typical scenario: Since we don't do any kind of bowel prep any more for routine CT scans, this kind of scenario is common. If the radiologist thinks the bowel looks a little too think, they will likely put in a statement like that as a hedge against potential pathology (and lawsuit). The thing is, could it be cancer? Yes, but the likelihood is low. If it was me, I would ignore it unless you develop symptoms.
