Uncertain: These lesions need to be visualized &amp; a history needs to be obtained in order to make an accurate diagnosis.  Sometimes lab testing or biopsy is necessary.

?? poison ivy: Some people are more sensitive or resistant to poison ivy than others, and it is common for people who had hardly any reactivity when younger to the plant (literally rubbing themselves with poison ivy-- don't try this btw- causes no reaction) to begin to get some sensitivity when older.  40 is an age when this can happen.  Especially  if rash is itchy you can see an md for treatment and advice.

now many bright red spots on thighs and lower leg

Psoriasis: Stay away from any harsh things on the skin. Topical Hydrocortisone may help as well as some sun exposure. Many times psoriasis will require prescription medications if you have already been diagnosed with it by your doctor.

More info needed: Not sure where you are living but down here in southern Florida this a very common problem.  Derived from an insect described as a “no see umm.”  They will show at dusk and bite your ankles .

mom has dvts, lots. filter in place. leg developing blotchy appearance. like bruises with red spots. should i worry? brain bleed can't do thinners.

Leg elevation, stock: Stockings.   Sounds like excess swelling secondary to DVTs. Which caused pressure in legs, and skin changes.   Recommend leg elevation and compression stockings

Rash: Rashes are impossible to diagnosis without looking at them.  See your doctor for evaluation.

Some possibilities..: Rashes are difficult to describe in words. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can examine a red spots rash to see what it might be. Sometimes rashes are related to medications, but many times they are not. For unusual rashes, a skin biopsy may be done by a dermatologist. Other causes include viral infections, allergies and autoimmune reactions, chemical irritants, bug bites, etc...

Need more info: There are many potential answers for such spots. For example: Do they itch or burn?  How long have they been present?  Have you been recently bitten by insects? Any new drug or supplement introduced?  If they bother you enough, you should consult your doctor to find out whether treatment is needed.

Bites likely: If you live in an area (warm weather) , yes , indeed , you may be experiencing insect bites. Apply 1% Hydrocortisone cream 2-3x/day.

Leg swelling: Many possibilities for leg swelling.  You need to see your doctor for an examination to find out why your legs are swelling and to get treatment.
