Testicular torsion is thought to cause severe pain. The scrotum may very well swell and the pain may be intolerable.  

Testicular torsion can lead to the death of the testicle so this can be an emergency.

Sudden pain: Pain starts suddenly, scrotum is tender, swells and becomes red. Testis tends to be drawn up high in scrotum. No urinary symptoms. Pain increases when you try to elevate scrotum. Cremaster reflex (muscle that pulls up testis) is usually lost on affected side. Torsion is an emgergency and needs to be corrected asap. Acute scrotakl pain most always be considered torsion until proven otherwise.

Intermittent pain: Intermittent or partial testis torsion is when the testicle twists less than the 720 degrees required to cause a full torsion and then untwists. It presents with intermittent, debilitating pain (bent-over pain) of sudden onset and sudden relief. It is a risk factor for full torsion and a procedure can be due to prevent this (scrotal orchidopexy).

Can't feel testicle: Could mean several things. With torsion you would still find testicle to be painful and higher in scrotum. You may also not feel testis if it retracted into your groin, is surrounded by serum called a hydrocele,  or if it suffered trauma or mumps or perhaps u had surgery that caused it to atrophy and shrink

: testicles move around in the scrotum normally. Testicular torsion causes a lot of pain and does not happen without causing pain. Wear a scrotal support if you are worried about testicles changing position. You will be fine

No pain: Torsion is treated by untwisting the twisted cord &amp; fixing the testis so twisting cannot recur. The opposite side(that is not torsed)is also fixed because there is a higher chance it may happen there. If the torsed testicle is gangrenous because of not seeking medical care in time then it is removed. Healing is when the pain is gone. Best wishes.

Yes it does: Testicular torsion results from twisting of the spermatic cord to the  testicle resulting in cutting off the blood supply to the tedticle. This results in severe pain that is unrelenting .

Likely torsion undon: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health
First, it's hard to say it is torsion unless there is a very careful exam with ultrasound. Trauma/irritation cause intermittant pain without torsion and is more common. Then, torsion can subside. Necrosis takes considerable time to occur and much longer to subside.

this app is telling me i have a testicular torsion, kidney stones, or orchitis or something like that. i dont match all the symptoms. how do i know what i have. theres no swelling ?
