Not sure about the: Numbness but taste actually comes from smell. Are you having allergy problems and possibly a lot of post nasal drip?

i've had lots of weird symptoms since i had covid in late february. lightheadedness, feeling shaky, cough, intermittent loss of taste/smell, etc. do you know of any treatments/cures that have shown results or promise? or any good tests to get done?

: These symptoms are normal for many as well as others. This is called long COVID and some go away in time. Be sure to get at least 3 or more booster shots. I had COVID but because I go to the gym 5 days a week, I'm fine so far. Try to exercise a lot.

Chronic sinusitis?: Loss of taste is the number one symptoms of chronic sinus infection or inflammation.  You also need to evaluate any medications because they may also contribute to your loss of taste.  You should be evaluated for allergies and sinus health.

Anosmia: Taste is mostly dependent on the sense of smell. Loss of that sense is called anosmia. A very common cause is head trauma, due to shearing of the tiny nerves from the nose going into the brain through a perforated cribiform plate at the base of the skull. Sudden jarring can sever those nerves. There are other conditions and medications that can impair this sense, too.

Testing/ quarantine: For different reasons. First you had a contact and have symptoms consistent with the infection and knowing will help you treat it properly. Second a work release can be issued in clear terms as to having or not having the infection. Self quarantine will be needed otherwise regardless. Best to coordinate will be through your primary care doc’ s office.

COVID 19 concerns: I can't tell what country you are from. The CDC has provided guidelines for COVID 19 testing at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/hcp/clinical-criteria.html. However, state &amp; local health departments/ providers make actual testing decisions. Some states require a doctor's referral and others don't. People can call their health care provider if they believe they should be tested.

COVID 19 :  This seems most likely COVID 19, although there are possibilities. You should have a telemedicine visit with a doctor.  If you have difficulties breathing, chest symptoms, dizziness, or severe fatigue see a doctor in person right away- call ahead before you go. Keep isolated, stay in one room alone. Do not leave the room unless it is related to your health, for doctors' appointments or testing.
