Inhaled insulin: The best way to take insulin is either by injections or by insulin pump.

what affects does inhaling isopropyl alcohol have on a fetus? i use it everyday as a disinfectant when i give myself insulin .

Suspect none.: There will be no studies to guide this, but i suspect there is no significant effect.  Systemic absorption can't be anything more than minimal. Should probably minimize exposure as best you can.  If you are using small needles, say 27 g or higher, and your skin is clean, there is no necessity to use alcohol skin cleanser.

I don't think so: To my knowledge there are no commercially available kits for home measurement of Insulin allergy or resistance.

bp 178/104, hard to breathe/chest tight. a sub dr said this is okay to have this bp reading. i have shortness of breath, ckd stage 4, on insulin, ?

Blood pressure: we would generally be quite concerned with what you describe. Get rechecked and be sure the doctor has all the possible information about you and your history. Ask for an explanation of what's going on when you see the doctor.

my dr is putting me on humulin r u-500 insulin. because i'm on cancer medication that is causing a 100++ increase in my numbers every day. my question is will u-500 make a difference? will it help my numbers? taking 228 units on u-100 now.

U 500 insulin. : You may have a problem due to insulin antibodies?  Discuss with your team.  Check your glucose meter.

i am type 2 dm on oral medication. now i am preganant. since i am on tablets instead of insulin can i continue my preganancy?

Yes: Some of the oral meds actually decrease the risk of miscarriage. Others do carry some risk and will need to be changed. There is also a chance that you will need to be put on insulin at some point in the pregnancy but you can with close monitoring have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Best of wishes.

Insulin resistance: Discuss with your doctor , but metformin is often used in pre-diabetes and in insulin resistance, weight loss , healthy diet ,exercise is also recomended.

Unlikely: Urine drug tests are looking for specific drugs like marijuana, cocaine, other narcotic analgesics, benzodiazepines (xanax/valium /ativan) & any other drug specifically requested. Insulin & other diabetic meds are not drugs of abuse & thus not looked for.

my mom has a fbs result of 206mg/dl, rbs of 313mg/dl. she kept on asking why is that her sugar levels never went down even with her insulin medication?

Dose adjustment: People's Insulin requirements vary. Some people respond to very low doses, some people need hundreds of units a day. She needs her doses adjusted.

i may have inhaled a lot of raid mosquito spray and now i have a dry cough that won't go away with cough syrup. what medications do i need?

Accepted Answer

Raid is the problem: The raid spray is irriating your mucous membrane from inhalation, and if gargling with saline rinses don't help, you can call the poison control center (for your state), and they will give you antidotes. Don't believe that cough syrup will work, as it's primarily sugar with some expectorant. Don't delay, so you can start feeling better.
