Overkill treatment: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing.Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day  and protected from trauma.  Placentrix may help but why pay when simple care works as well.

is steriod injection beneficial for pain relating to degenerative changes in back or is it likely to give temporary releif only 4 this type of problem?

Temporary relief: For an 83 Y.O. Back with chronic degenerative disc disease, an epidural injection of the spine will only give temp relief to symptoms, but may last from 3-12 months in certain individuals!

hi dr, i used saxenda injection for 6 months for losing weight and i got good results, but in these two weeks i didn't lose weight, my weight did not changed ,what should be the problem?

: You either reach the peak effect of this medication or your diet &amp; exercise need to be re-adjusted for further weight loss if you want to lose further weight. However, if you do not lose more than 4% of your weight after 6 months then treatment is considered ineffective. Good luck.

Injection only if...: Injections are only a temporary relief. I consider it like a bandaide on a wound.  If your pain has been there for more than 6-8 weeks then most likely your inflammation is now chronic and will need more aggressive treatments. Injection followed by orthotics, ice, night splint, nsaids (topical is my choice), physical therapy, even a cast if severe, would be my choice.

i dont prevent and i dont conceive. i met my fianc in 2015, from 2016 i never took any injection or tablets, now its 2020 still nothing, what can be the problem ?

If TTC: If trying to conceive get established with Ob-Gyn and start folic acid supplement. Further recommendations based on your goals and exam will follow from the doc.

Possibly: Occasionally there may be combined iron and vitamin b12 deficiencies. Treatment with b12 would not treat the associated iron deficiency. That is why physicians don't prescribe b12 injections unless the workup determined the exact cause or causes of the anemia.

Artefill : Artefill can cause delayed problems. The most common is granulomas, a chronic inflammation that can lead to lumps and ulceration. Artefill contains bovine collagen (from cows) and small spheres of polymethyl methacrylate or pmma. Also known as plexiglass or lucite. It is an acrylic glass, a transparent thermoplastic, often used as a lightweight and shatter-resistant alternative to glass. The collagen is absorbed, the pmma is not. It causes a mild irritation that encourages the body to form its own collagen. For people it is too stimulating and a granuloma can result. The artefill site has more information under the "what is artefill?" tab, with subtabs: "about artefill", "safety information" and "frequently asked questions". This cannot substitute for an in person consultation with an experienced physician injector.
