i take nexium 40 mg otc twice daily. it works pretty well, but for 3 months i wake from sleep choking with the taste of acid vomit coming from my nose and mouth onto my pillow, and also i've inhaled the vomit and my lungs burn. is this dangerous?

: If you are waking up and “choking”, this reflex keeps most of the material out of your lungs and inhaling a small amount is not harmful. But, the more important question is why is this happening to you? Is it from reflux? Are you sleeping with the head of the bed raised so that your head is more upright? You should see your GI doctor if this continues to find out what the treatment should be.

Poison: You feel dizzy and nauseous because tobacco and nicotine are poisons.  There isn't a single reason in the world to start smoking at your age.  It is out of style, tastes like ashes, and makes your breath sink.  Not to mention it causes heart disease, cancer, stroke, dementia and even thinning of the bones.

nausea. forced vomiting for 2 day w/no luck. now right chest pain when deep inhale and right side rib pain. direct cause? why only pain right side?

Pulled muscle...: Voluntarily induction of vomiting is never recommended and it sounds like you injured a muscle or connective tissue on the right side of your chest. Try taking an analgesic.  If symptoms persist then see a doctor. Good luck!

hi i have pain on the left side of my chest underneath by breast, been burping feel like vomiting  hurts when i inhale and very uncomfortable at night?

Reflux: It sounds like you may  have GERD, or gastroesophageal reflux. The symptoms of this are gassiness or bloating, nausea, sometimes pain, and it is usually worse when you lay down. You could try an anti acid medicine like zantac (ranitidine) or pepcid. If you don't improve, you develop worsening symptoms, or develop trouble breathing, call your doctor. Hope this helps!

diagnosed w/ double pnue.a week ago. on keflex, promethazine/codeine syrup and albuterol inhaler. still coughing so hard i vomit and pee. help?

Bronchi inflamed : Your pulmonary infection is attracting an inflammatory response, with mucus exudate that you must clear up and out.  The cough is a good reflex.  Still, you are miserable.  Try:  hot showers 3x/day, warm salt gargles hourly, a different cough med (Hycodan)(best rx), Ricola or Halls cough drops, tea hourly, and ask about different antibiotic. Are you wheezing?  Any asthma tendencies? Predisone ?

inhaled bunch of black mold 24 hrs ago, fever of 100.3, bp 150/130, cough, throat irritated, vomit w blood and woozy. do i need to b seen right away?

Black Mold: Call your doctor or go to the er. Reactions to black mold can be quite severe.

Pneumonia: I would suspect pneumonia or pertussis (whooping cough) go to the er or urgent care and get a chest x-ray.

See your doctor: immediately. You may have aspirated your vomit into your lungs and need immediate care. Don't delay!
