Nurofen and Targin: Nurofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory agent to treat pain.  Targin is a mild narcotic  combination that also treats mild pain through a different mechanism.  They are metabolized differently and can be taken at the same time.   Be careful with how much  of these that you take.  Nurofen can cause intestinal bleeding and kidney problems if you take too much and Targin can be habit forming

See details: This is really difficult to answer because significant GI problems can occur at even relatively small doses. I personally consider the maximum daily dose to be 2, 400 mg daily.

Clinic visit!: I do not suggest using "Calpol" and "Nurofen for Children 3 months to 2 yrs" together for your child. One or the other given only as prescribed on the package may help with fever. However a proper diagnosis in a clinic is needed for proper treatment. Your child could have a serious infection that needs antibiotics or another treatable illness. Please take your child to a clinic immediately!

Large safety range: Overdosage of medications is one of the most common reasons for hospital ER visits in children. In this case, you should not worry. Ibuprofen doses in children have a large safety range. You may note that your child may be very sleepy today or less active, but otherwise they should be fine. It is vital to correctly administer medication in children, as many common meds are not safe for children.

Circadian rhythm: That change affects circadian rhythm.  It has major effect on many body process, esp changes in cortisol and other hormones that are most likely at the root of your headaches.  Rhythm adjusts after a few days to a week or so. If Nurofen helpful, might consider treating with it 3-4 times a day the week prior to and week of change to see if helps.  Also good to talk with your doctor about this.  Dr R
