In the idiopathic form other causes such as infections and tumor have to be excluded. Coccygodynia can also be the result of pain referred from visceral structures due to conditions such as disorders of the rectum, the colon sigmoideum, and the urogenital system.

: No urinary symptoms and normal urinalysis almost rule out a bladder pathology. You have pain in the pelvic area rather than a bladder pain. Because you also have pain in the coccyx , a careful and thorough physical exam of lumbosacral spines and pelvis should be repeated. We should not rely too much on tests.

Pinched Nerve/Muscle: Most times back pain that is sudden onset will resolve. He should use anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen, aleve around the clock and even tylenol (acetaminophen) to help.  If this does not resolve he should see his doctor for a muscle relaxant as well.  If it still does not resolve, i would recommend him to see a spine specialist for a full evaluation and testing.  He may need to get an MRI to see inside.

Bad week!!: Sounds like you're having a string of bad luck.  None of these should be serious enough to cause any long term troubles for you.  Except maybe the low back pain depending on how severe and what the reason for the "inflammation" is.   Make sure you stay hydrated.
