: It means a chronic inflammation of the organ's surface which contains squamous and glandular cells. I wonder if you had biopsy of the esophagus or the genital part. You are relatively safe, malignancy is ruled out with this result.

: There is no cancer or any other serious disorder. There are many reasons for inflammation in the esophagus, including gastric reflux. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests.

Esophagitis: Esophagitis is unusual in a person in their 30s, but can happen.  Omeprazole definitely indicated, at least for 8 weeks, probably longer.  Important also is how and what you eat.  Smaller meals, chew thoroughly, minimal spice, no alcohol, don't overeat.  Eat slowly.  Don't eat for 1 hour before bed time.  For 2 weeks you might benefit from twice a day omeprazole -- ask doc.  Mylanta every 2 hrs

Inflammed mucosa: Deborah841 ~ no, you cannot make any definitive statement till you have the whole pathology report and know which specific organ it refers to.However, if that was an intestinal biopsy, it would be suggestive. But do not rely on that. Get the whole report thanks

: It means there is an ulcer in the esophagus that is inflamed but it is beginning the healing process-granulation tissue is how it heals. There could be many causes including gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Often the GI doctor will take a biopsy of the ulcer at the time of the endoscopy which may help determine the cause. So, see the GI doctor in follow up to discuss the results and treatment.

: Best to ask someone who has looked at slides to tell.  Different Drs use different terms based on what they mean when they dictate these words. But sounds like pretty normal to me.

Inflammation: A lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate can be due to inflammation, or less likely, to a lymphoma. If there was no malignancy, lymphoma may have been ruled out.
