C.difficile: C. difficile bacterial spores from  feces  can be spread by unwashed hands to food, surfaces &amp; objects &amp; live for weeks to months.  Recommend cleaning all  surfaces with a disinfectant that contains chlorine bleach. Not all cleaning products are effective in killing spores. Depends on situation: If you had the viruses before that cause the disorder you will be immune. If you are susceptible but are cautious & have no contact with the saliva of the person you are at low risk. It occurs most often in kids under 5 but we see occasional strains affect adults. I would not consider it much of a threat to any adult who is not immune compromised by chronic illness or chemo.

Topical/oral antibio: An infected dermatitis usually has a yellow crust and sometimes pus can be present. You need to see a medical professional and get topical or oral antibiotics depending on their assessment.

Antibiotics: With an ozzing infection, it certainly sounds infected.  Keep it clean, treat it topicallywithan antibiotic cream, and get into a dr.'s office for a clinicla eval to see if you require antibiotics to be rx'd by mouth and or a rx topical cream as well.  Good luck.

: HPV does not survive a long time on dry surfaces so it is rare to get HPV infection from those dry materials but it is still possible.

HPV ?: The ability for transmission of the virus "HPV" depends on whether vehicle (in this case, a used towel) touches a receptive surface.  If the vehicle has been used recently on an individual who has the virus, it can be transmitted.

Burn: 1st degree burn is a red area on the skin, second degrees with some blistering, third degree with full thickness damage of the skin that may need surgery.  First and second degree burns can become worse through infections, increasing redness and pain, drainage from the area of the burn.  If there is any question about infection be seen immediately.  Otherwise keep a burn ointment/bandage on.

a month ago an aids infected person kissed my hand and there was a small wound on my hand.  should i worry?

Accepted Answer

No: Hiv is a very fragile virus and is not as easily transmitted as many often believe or suspect.  You are not giving the virus any way to enter into your bloodstream even if you have a small cut.  Also, even though HIV has been cultured from saliva of HIV patients, a kiss on the had to an open wound would not be enough to transmit the virus. Don't worry.
