There are many autoimmune diseases - lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroiditis, scleroderma, & sjogren's syndrome, to name a few, are chronic, often relapsing diseases. Symptoms vary from mild to severe. Its impossible to guess what tests & expenses your illness will require. But your on the right track by asking.

Reality check: I would dismiss hollywood leech therapy out of hand.  For decades, people have proposed that infesting folks with worms might tweak the immune system favorably. Despite some pilot studies for inflammatory bowel disease, the new work isn't promising. Latest studies failed for allergic rhinitis, nothing for asthma or psoriasis. If offered helminths by an unorthodox healer for either, it's your money.

Root Canal Therapy: Not sure what you are reading, but do you reasonably think there would be a specialty in the dental profession that deals only with root infection problems, if that therapy caused the issues you listed? Endodontists have gone through ten years of training after high school and do their very best to save teeth that at one time were considered hopeless.

: The drug action and metabolism occurs at the level of the lung tissue where it first enters. The amount that progresses into other body tissues is trivial. As such its effect on the immune system is not clinically significant. This is why inhaled steroids were such a great advance over the oral or injected forms used previously that do have an impact on the immune system.
