To avoid problems.: To monitor your condition and the fetus' condition until delivery; labor is a very dangerous period in mother's and fetus' life and complications can arise with little to no warning. Preeclampsia, hypertension, hypotension, tachypnea, oliguria and low oxygen saturations are all potentially serious signs of complications that would warrant prompt and decisive action by your obstetrician or midwife.

Care.:  You haven't provided us very much context here. If this person was cared for in an emergency room, it would be important to obtain vital signs.  Was this person monitored at home?  I don't know how stable the individual was.

Many if needed: Vital sign monitors can now read both arterial and cuff blood pressures, ecg, heart rate, pulse oxygenation, breathing rate, temperature, cvp, eeg (bis), and  in some cases even expired co2.  More complex devices can also monitor pulmonary artery pressures and cardiac output.  From that it can compute systemic and pulmonary vascular resistance,  stroke volume, and measures of cardiac function.

Fever: Generally you can attribute an increase pulse rate of 7% for every degree elevation of temperature above 100 f.  Depending on the causes of the fever, there may also be an increase in respiratory rate, or a decrease in blood pressure may occur due to dehydration from fever.

COVID 19:  I think that your temperature should be taken right away.  Even providers who previously didn't take temps should be taking them regularly due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Varies: With a severe asthma attack the patients respiratory rate will increase, heart rate may go up. If severe enough to stop breathing then the reverse may occur.

Be grateful: You're not going to develop sepsis out of the blue without having some underlying cause that a second-year med student could pick up. If you've lost your spleen along the way, sepsis can pop up suddenly -- but you'll be obviously sick. And people who have sepsis perish in hours or days. Get a diligent physician to work up whatever symptoms you have. Best wishes.

i had a two day chemical stress test for my heart.  today i have a generalized soreness around my heart.  my vital signs are good.  is this normal?

It's normal: to be "concentrating" on your heart more after such testing!! The test itself did not hurt you since you were monitored before during and after the actual testing!
