my arm is stinging when i move it near the insertion of my nexplanon i got it done yesterday. is this normal, also it's bumpy and feels a little weird?

Probably OK: I wouldn't worry at this point about pain at the site of insertion.  If it begins to swell, has blood or pus draining from it, the pain increases, you develop fever or you have trouble moving your arm, I'd certainly have it looked at by your doctor.

2-3 days: If you are trying to conceive, the sperm can live in some instances up to 72 hours and the egg can survive sometimes up to 48 hours.

during implanon insertion, dr hit basilic vein and nerve. its impalpable, should it be removed?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: If there was large accumulation of blood and swelling at the insertion site  the implant may not function normally-  it maybe surrounded with blood instead of normal tissue.  In this case it should be removed and replaced with another in the other arm.

i had implanon inserted in october 2018. ever since insertion, ive had non-stop bleeding . i use the pill to stop the bleeding, but as soon as i stop taking the pill-the bleeding returns . should i just remove the implanon?

Yes: occasional spotting is normal, this seems way past anything you should have to put up with for this long.  You should discuss  with your doctor.  An ultrasound to find and D&amp;C, might get a uterine polyp removed, to stop the bleeding

implanon insertion. massive bruise, (even bigger than first thought) came up instantly. why? never even bruised previously.

Can happen: When something is done like this you can have severe bruising. See your doctor to make sure nothing else is wrong.

Negative pregnancy: Modern urine pregnancy tests sold in drugstores are very accurate when used properly, and can be used reliably even when using birth control.

You're covered: If you were not pregnant when you got the Implanon placed, you would have been covered 10 days later. The implant starts working very quickly (within a day). The yeast infection pill wouldn't have interfered either.

Yes: This is a very simple procedure that only takes 5min and is done in the office.

Arm: I would call the doctor who did the procedure so they are aware of what is ring on and can be involved in your care.

Get checked: Nexplanon should not cause pain. If it is causing pain then you will need to see you Obgyn for an evaluation. It is quite rare but there are cases where patients have been pressing on it causing it to shift around or migrate.
