Dumbell: Most likely you stretched some muscles and cartildges and have pain from that. Should get better with time. Take ASA or other pain relievers.

Yes: Yes it would be good to be seen.  What you are describing could very likely be what is known as a "boxers fracture" which is a fracture of the neck of the fifth metacarpal and can require intervention to ensure a good outcome.

my toe is broken half way sideways and im wondering if it could have gotten more broken because i dropped a weight on it. im also wondering if i should buddy tape the toe because its fractured sideways(right to left) on my pinky and how to heal it?
