i  am pregnant  6w and use kiehl's lip balm which contains 1% octinoxate. i heard octinoxate can produce estrogen like effect. will it hurt my baby?

No: Lip balm will not hurt your fetus.

I'd stop using it, : As it it absorbed & does have an estrogen effect. The concentration that can  cause  a problem in humans is unknown.Check your sunscreens , also. Octinoxate  is not stable in sunlight. So there are probably better & safer options. It's not recommended for pregnant women   or children. Since you used it on a small surface area, it probably did no harm.

after i apply lip balm or lip moisturizer on my lips, should i wipe the lip balm off my lips before i eat or is it ok to ingest some of the lip balm on my lips while eating?

Ok to leave on: best thing to do is to apply the product After finished eating and just before bedtime.

Highly unlikely: would use balm after eating and at bedtime to avoid this problem.

Not recommended: Many children eat bits of dirt now and again. It is not recommended and most suffer no harm.  There are some gems in dirt which can cause diarrheal illnesses and possibly some toxins in dirt. If your child eats a lot of dirt or eats it frequently, contact your doctor. Otherwise, wash his/her hands and distract him/her with another activity.

Neonatal teeth: Most likely these are neonatal teeth - incompletely formed tooth structures without roots.  They should be removed once they erupt and become loose because of the danger of aspiration.

It happens: A common reason for a big head is heredity &amp; I often measure parents heads in the office. But in babies we follow many such areas with concern because a big head could mean big problems too. In a kid with under nutrition the head would tend to grow normally while the body remains small.  Sounds like the doc is doing their job.

Breast milk: Feeding practices vary by culture and the age of the person. Aboriginal cultures often breast fed exclusively &amp; then weaned the kid to whatever the tribe was eating. They ground up and fed the kid whatever everybody else was eating. Vegetables of all sorts were fed in season. Today early infant feeding grew out of a need triggered by home made baby formula which were better for cows than humans.

Yes, but...: In a healthy 9-month-old no food, including tuna, needs to be delayed to reduce allergies (in fact, feeding may reduce allergies). Great omega-3s in tuna, but watch out for accumulating mercury, especially during first 3 years. Wild salmon is a better first fish. If choose tuna: small, infrequent portions. And 'light' tuna better than 'white'. Some brands have lower mercury (smaller fish) options.

Well visit?: Your pediatrician will provide guidance on developmental milestones such as feeding at each scheduled well hold visit.  By 9 months infants are able to eat textured foods and are able to grab foods with an immature grasp.  Beware of foods that may be choking hazards and make sure pieces are small or soft.  Only introduce one new food every few days in case there is a reaction.   Cooked vegetables.
