Doubtful: you are protected and the bleeding is most likely from doubling up on your pills. It will take 1-2 more packs for your cycle to regulate.

You could : Become pregnant if you have sex near time of ovulation. Sometimes there could be a little bleeding with ovulation.

If you have bleeding: ; are actually pregnant then yes, a  pregnancy test can show + if the HCG level is high enough. But if you experience bleeding and you are not pregnant- the pregnancy test will be negative. The test measures for HCG - not for bleeding.

Still works: Breakthrough bleeding occurs when you have bleeding at unscheduled times while on the pill. . Often things get back to normal the next cycle. If not then schedule a visit to discuss changing brands  or changing birth control methods. This is very common. Other than being annoying it is not dangerous. The pill is still effective.

Yes: Many women will have spotting (ie. Breakthrough bleeding) at the time of ovulation, which is the most fertile time of the cycle.

Some women have anovulatory bleeding - of course they are not likely to conceive, as they are not ovulating.

Breakthru bleeding: By definition, breakthrough bleeding occurs while taking some form of hormonal birth control, not after stopping said contraception. So the fact that you're bleeding 2wks after removing your Nuvaring means that your body is attempting to return to its monthly hormonal cycle. So you can start trying to get pregnant. on yasmin for several years and have never had problems with breakthrough bleeding until last 2 months. i understand that this could indicate a need to switch to a higher dosage. however is it possible that i could still get pregnant in the meantime?

No: Unless you have missed pills, your likelihood of getting pregnant is not increased with breakthrough bleeding. Also a change in pills may not be necessary. A short term course of additional estrogen can be very helpful.
