Depends: It depends on the treatment rx'd. But usually, oral thrush needs to be treated "orally" of course where vaginal yeast infections may be treated with oral medications as well as vaginal creams.

Oral thrush: can sometimes spread to the roof of the mouth and the back of the throat. In many cases oral thrush does not cause any serious problem. The physician can diagnose oral thrush by looking into your mouth and taking history of present illness. Prescription of the anti-thrush drugs will solve the problem. If left untreated it will  get worse. Take care.

Unlikely thrush: As an adult it is very rare to acquire thrush.  It is seen in adults typically only if they are immunocompromised- receiving chemotherapy, etc.  This may not be thrush and i suggest you have a doctor take a look to be sure.

It is best to treat: the thrush. Once in a while it will resolve if the causes are corrected - but I would NOT rely on this.

Uncertain: For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician &amp; get a strep throat test &amp; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for Strep Throat.  Try saltwater gargles. Mix tsp of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle w this several times/day. You can gargle w Aloe Vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey &amp; a small amt of lemon juice helps.

Thrush=fungus: Thrush is relatively common in infants/children, but not so in health adults unless something happened..Such as recent use of antibiotics, infections, steroid uses (such as those for asthma/copd/allergies), or immunosupressed states such as hiv, cancers etc...So, check with your doc. If it is thrush,  it can be easily treated, but this requires a prescription from your doc...
