Chest pain: If you're getting chest discomfort after drinking alcohol, that's likely your body telling you to find something else to drink. You may be getting gastric or esophageal irritation. Not sure what your shock sensation could be without more description.

Probably: Alcohol can certainly cause heart rhythm issues. Alcohol itself would not directly cause a heart attack.

( inderal (propranolol) ) or need to change the betablockers

Beta blockers or....: Alcohol and drinking binges are know to cause atrial fibrillation , which can lead to blood clots in the heart, which can lead to strokes.  One simple option may be to cut back on the drinking.  More than 7 drinks a week (14 for men) or 4 a day (5 for men), would be risky behavior.  Beta blockers are a common cardiac drug which reduces a fib.  Also digoxin and amiodarone.

IT HAS LIKELY: Dehydrated you or your heart's electrical conduction system is sensitive.
Either way, cut down on booze and extra hydrate please.

Brain control (thus also heart function) is highly influenced by feelings, including internalized history/memory/complex-associations. For some, Etoh greatly increases cardiac arrhythmias. Docs can&#x27;t see causes; only end behaviors.

Are you Asian?  : There is a condition due to inability to metabolize alcohol call alcohol flush syndrome. Around 30% of asian descend people have it. Associated with flush, erythema and tachycardia.

The fast heart rate: probably occurs as a physiological response to the vasodilatation caused by the alcohol. It should slow down naturally as the alcohol metabolizes out of your system. You could try hydrating significantly before drinking or drinking less alcohol.

Arrhythmia: Low probability of deadly arrhythmia if your heart is normal. There is never is zero probability however.
