i have a question. i hit my head on my car door last night and today its sore, swollen, and had like a little red dot/scrape. is it something serious?

Corneal ulcer: The spot is probably on the cornea, the crystal over the brown iris.  As you wear contacts and feel something, it most likely is an ulcer.  If it is near the edge it is probably not serious but does require treatment to prevent it from getting serious.  If it is near the center, it is serious and could affect your vision.  Leave your contact out and see an ophthalmologist ASAP.

3 weeks ago got hit in the eye the redness cleared up and the swellness is gone jus black under the eye how long does it take to clear?

Rakoon's eye: Known phenomenon of periorbital hamorrhage from periocular venous plexus following blunt injury. It will change color ...Purple to blue to yelow green and fade and dissapear. Big sunglass, avoiding repeat injury advised.

i have a small white dot on the edge of my iris its irritated with redness in a line from the dot to bottom of my eye. its been 2 days it itches.

SMI is associated with eyelash dandruff (blepharitis) so washing your eyelids and lashes might help with natural healing. See an ophthalmologist for a complete eye examination. If inside the eye, an iris cyst is possible, and a visit to an EyeMD will clarify the diagnosis

Eye irritation: If you are feels and looks fine then don`t worry about it :)

Debris flying into your eye can cause injury and even become lodged in the conjunctiva of the periorbital area.  If you have pain, redness, irritation or tearing see a doctor in person.

See eye doctor: whenever you're not sure what to do, see your PCP. They will arrange referral if needed. The eye is an extension of the brain. So don't try to take care of it yourself. Call in the experts! You'll be in great hands! Take care now.

Allergies: Allergies can cause watering of eyes. I don't think the head injury is related. You could try taking an antihistamine for relief. I favor a nonsedating antihistamine like claritin, especially in view of the head injury.

i accidentally hit myself in the eye with my hand. i am not experiencing any pain, redness, bruising, or blurred vision. is it possible i have caused any damage? 6 months ago i had an orbital fracture in the same eye and am worried about re-injury?

: you don’t mention when this occurred, however if you don’t have any discomfort at this time it is highly unlikely you caused any damage to the eye. The surface of the eye, called the cornea is very sensitive to trauma and you would have had pain immediately

See ophthalmologist: The red spot most likely is from a burst blood vessel.  It may or may not reabsorb. However to really get an answer you should see an eye doctor.

Hemorrhage: Most red spots on the white of the eye represent subconjunctival hemorrhages which usually are of no pathological significance . They frequently are secondary to damaging superficial conjunctival vessels from eye rubbing, coughing or sneezing. If there is any pain, blurred vision or foreign body sensation it should be evaluated by a physician , otherwise it should resolve without  treatment.
