You should: probably call off. Fever is often a sign of a contagious infection and I am certain your boss and workmates would prefer not to be exposed. If the fever continues for more than 36 hours you should seek evaluation by a health care professional. You can alternate Tylenol with Advil every four hours but read the bottle label to avoid exceeding the maximal dose.

hi i have fever with severe caugh and cold. my fever is like 101. i am taking advil (ibuprofen) and motrin . is that ok? which medicine i can for my caugh?

Robitussin (guaifenesin): Guaifenesin is the main ingredient in it for cough.  However the bigger issue is that if you have a fever and the cough is getting worse or if you feel short of breath is to get evaluated by a physician.

Fever: Continue to treat her fever with weight appropriate doses of Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil. The Tylenol (acetaminophen) can be used every 4 hours up to 5 times a day and the Advil every 6 hours. Do not over bundle her and give plenty of fluids. If she has other symptoms or her fever remains high; have her seen. All the best.

Ibuprofen in kids: Unfortunately, recommendations for dosing of medications is, at least in my state, against regulations since your not established as a patient with my practice.  Making recommendations is ok but actually dosing anything is a line i can't cross.  Contact your pediatrician or primary care physician to get recommendation.

Tylenol (acetaminophen): You might try alternating tylenol (acetaminophen) with the advil. If it persists, a lukewarm bath may help. If the fever continues, you should see a doctor to determine the source.

Yes: Dayquil has a decongestant, cough suppressant and acetaminophen in it. Yes, it can be combined with ibuprofen. However, it may take a couple of hours for the ibuprofen to lower your fever. Also, it's OK to have a low-grade fever, as it's your body's natural way to "kill" a virus or bacteria, and thus, it's not necessary to lower your temperature to a normal level.

No, fever is OK: Fever is the body's response to infection or inflammation, and in itself, is not harmful.  Cold like symptoms suggest a respiratory illness, often viral, and some viruses often cause fevers in adults, such as influenza or adenovirus.  If there is an underlying health problem, sore throat, shortness of breath, or ear pain, evaluation is recommended, or if fever lasts more than 2-3 day.

Fevers can help: Fever is the body's way of fighting an infection. If you can tolerate the fever it may be good to let it burn. A rapid raise of temperature is not safe however.
