what sort of symptoms would someone have if they had both acid reflux and ibs ? can health anxiety amplify these symptoms?

Acid reflux &amp; IBS: You may experience burning from stomach to throat and/or bad taste in mouth w/reflux.  IBS may manifest w/constipation or the runs or an alternation of both. Please see your doc.  Yes, anxiety can make any symptom worse.  You may have a food allergy/sensitivity, or need probiotics.  Peace and good health.

Anxiety and DDD: Flutter in the stomach is one of the frequent sensations described by people with history of anxiety attacks, but sensation in one leg, usually numbness  or tingling, or hypesthesia can be a manifestation of degenerative disk disorder or radiculopathy, too often followed by sharp, debilitating pain. good day, i have wake-up headaches, neck stiffness/pain, nausea, abdominal pains and fatigue. what can cure this or is it serious? i have ibs, but normal health with no bad habits.

Headaches : The best way to evaluate this is to see a doctor in person. Morning headaches with neck stiffness bring to mind a neck problem worsening as you sleep. Nausea, abdominal pain, and fatigue can be many possible issues. Morning fatigue with headache also brings to mind anemia and sleep apnea.

Consider dx: Reconsider diagnosis or at least possible additional diagnosis of endometriosis .

Several possible...: Ibs symptoms overlap with a number of other fairly common conditions including: food intolerance/sensitivity (eg. Milk, soybean, peanut), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, gallbladder problems (eg. Stones, dysfunction), inflammatory bowel disease (crohn's, colitis), and celiac disease. Good luck!

IBS: There is really no specific test for irritable bowel syndrome at this time. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. In-other-words, you have certain symptoms such as bloating, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea and/or constipation. A multitude of tests are done and nothing is found. What you can do is alter your diet and see if it helps. For example; eliminate wheat and/or dairy. Good luck!

what are the long-term health consequences of ibs?

Life style: Functional bowel disorder, not anatomic or organic disease.  Doesn't cause or lead to inflammatory bowel disease, celiac sprue,  cancer, etc.  Can co-exist with the above.
Generally not cause weight loss, anemia, bleeding.
Sx can interfere with day to day activities and diet.
Discuss with doc re: options to stay healthy, active, and to make sure there is not something else causing the symptoms.

Yes: Large meals can cause cramping and diarrhea. Eating smaller meals more often or eating smaller portions may help IBS symptoms. Eating meals low in fat and high in carbohydrates, such as pasta, rice, whole-grain breads and cereals, fruits, and vegetables, may help.  Some foods or drinks may cause IBS symptoms in some people, such as foods high in fat, milk products, alcohol, caffeine, beans, etc...

Unknown: The cause of ibs is unknown. Family history can play a role and psychological factors are important. Some question as to abnormal bacteria in the gut as a cause  sibi not a cause. Sibo can lead to diarrhea and weight loss can be serious but very treatable with antibiotics and diet.
