my boyfriend had gotten sick 3 days ago but we dont believe its because he had a virus. is it safe to believe its because he was overtired and ate a lot of unhealthy things that day?

Common...: During any period of illness, there is an increase in systemic inflammation (blood vessels dilate to help mobilize cells to fight and also for nutrition) which causes the release of proteins (such as cachectin) which raise body temperature and suppress appetite. Depending on the duration of the illness, it is not uncommon to lose several pounds of body weight.

is the eee mosquito virus slowly going to increase and a lot of people will die ?

Probably not: Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEE) is the most dangerous viral brain infection in the US (usually fatal or crippling) but also the rarest; the mosquito types that transmit EEE virus are uncommon in US and only 2% of infections lead to encephalitis. Only 5-8 cases in the entire country each of the past 6 years. A new outbreak may be underway in New England, but still rare, 4 cases in MA.

i live in a place with a lot of mosquitos- can i get west nile virus from another person?

Not very easily: West nile virus (wnv) is transmitted through mosquito bites. (but only by mosquitoes that have been feeding on an infected bird.)  it is possible to get wnv fom another person, but it 's not easy. It can occur via  conjunctival (eye) exposure to infected blood, through blood transfusions, intrauterine exposure, and breast feeding.  Normal contact with others is not a problem.

are people too relaxed and complacent about covid-19? shouldn't we be doing a lot more to contain the virus?

Yes and No: Many people are working vigorously to contain this virus while others aren't taking appropriate precautions.  Decisions made by one person have the potential to affect many other people.

COVID 19:  Return of sense of taste often relies on return of sense of smell. It take weeks to months for sense of smell to return. Unfortunately, muscular aches &amp; pain may linger with this illness.

Some may be related to pure chance, while other reasons may be related to an increase to exposure to certain infections. i had a virus a couple of weeks ago.  i have had a cough ever since. i am coughing up a lot of mucous.  what is this?

Sinusitis/asthma : A cough that persists following a viral URI may be a symptom of a bacterial sinus infection. Sometimes a condition like asthma can also occur causing a cough. See your primary care doctor for an exam and possibly a course of antibiotics.
