Most certainly: O course you can get pregnant as once the depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) medication is out of your blood stream then ovulation can occur PRIOR to any succeeding period flow.

Maybe: If you have been on Depo-Provera for awhile or started it on the 2nd or 3rd day of your last period, pregnancy is unlikely. Depo does cause irregular bleeding and then the absence of periods and this is likely to be the cause of the late period. It does not help with prevention of STDs though and the cramping could be a symptom of one of those. You need to use condoms to help decrease that risk, Be safe

Many : Many women who take Depo-Provera stop menstruating. This is actually one of the most common side effects. Many women dislike this because they worry that they may be pregnant. Over time they realize this is just a side effect of the Depo-Provera and they become less and less concerned. In the beginning you will need a lot of reassurance, which possibly means a serum (blood) pregnancy test. If over time you don't like not having a period you may want to consider another birth control option.

Run a PG test: Most MD's will not give a Depo shot unless you are on your period or had a period within 5 days to avoid this conundrum. Run a pregnancy test now to clear up this question.l

Probably not: The depo shot is very effective contraception so you are not likely to conceive for at least three months after receiving the shot.  The most common side effect of the shot is disruption of the normal cycle.  Many women have irregular spotting and bleeding but some have no bleeding at all.  The effect of the shot on the cycle can last for up to 18 months.

Depo lasts 3+months,: So you are on the early end of resuming menses, and some studies suggest it may be from 2-3 moths to as long as 18 months before resuming ovulation, which is required to conceive, in addition to having hormone related menses.  Take prenatal vitamins, eat a nutritious diet and get regular exercise.  If no action by 6 months, consult with Gyn who may recommend clomiphine if TTC is a priority.

Pregnancy unlikely: If worried, can do a test. A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a regular period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test.

Yes: Depo usually is effective for a little more than 3 months, after 6 months you may not have return of your periods but you may still ovulate and be able to become pregnant.
