ive been feeling this pulse in the left side of my abdomen for a little while now, i cant really feel it when im standing up only when im sitting or laying down. it doesnt cause me any pain but its starting to freak me out. any suggestions?

Aorta: The abdominal portion of the aorta is very large artery, and often its pulsations  are often palpable by healthy slender people. If the pulsation feels very strong, A physician would check for an aneurysm and also check to make sure your blood pressure is not elevated. An ultrasound study can be done if your MD feels is advisable to determine the status of the aorta. My guess is you're OK.

Hard to say: Without a bit more information about any other associated symptoms, like diarrhea, constipation, etc.  As this could be related to the motility of the colon(spasms or gas), it could be spasms of the abdominal muscles, or much less likely(in someone of your age) a vascular problem. This would be an atypical issue of the ovarians or genitourinary tract.  If it continues to be bothersome see your doc

Stomach or colon: Your stomach is in the upper left part of the abdomen. So is the colon. Your colon makes noise when you have a lot of gas, and that is a part of the colon that goes around a corner and may trap gas.
Your stomach makes noise both when hungry and when digesting food. Very loud noises may be an indication of excess gas. Can be from poor digestion, too many carbonated drinks, bacterial imbalance.

: It's true that slender people may feel their abdominal aortic pulse as prominent. For peace of mind get your  pulse &amp; blood pressure checked and your abdomen examined by a physician to rule out an aortic aneurysm. If your pulse is rapid get your thyroid levels checked.

More info: Is it painful? Where is the pulling? When do you get pain/pulling? What type? How long does it last? Anything make it better? Anything make it worse? Does food affect the pain? Have you had any surgery ? How long has it been there? Have you tried any medications? Did they work? Did you injure yourself? Pulled muscle etc? Has anyone done any studies? Need a bit more.

Thoracic radiculopat: If it is of 1 or 2 days duration then shingles may show up in a few days. However if it is of weeks or months duration, then thoracic nerve or nerves may be pinched in thoracic spine. It is same for men and women.
