Check w/ your physician about using Denavir (penciclovir) cream on cold sore - ? Safe for breastfeeding mom.

Not a problem: A refreshing mixture for dealing with a cold is the kind of tea called "throat coat" mixed with honey and a squirt of lemon juice.  This will soothe your throat and will not affect the pregnancy.  Serious issues with fetal development almost always occur in the first three months  if you are beyond that, there is little you could ingest that would have any effect on the fetus.

Colds: Keep your baby well-hydrated. If nose is stuffy, you can use saline drops to open nasal passages. If eating and drinking well and is happy, no medicines to take.

Fluids: Try to protect your baby from your cold as much as possible. Drink extra fluids such as Gatorade. Continue to breast feed your baby as before. Careful hand washing and protection from your nasal secretions is important.

Perhaps: The hospital may have rules against you visiting. However, as long as you wear a mask and dont handle the baby you should be able to visit.

Rsv: Yes, he can get RSV again. Usually the body builds immunity (a natural protection against re-infection). However, your baby's immune system is not fully developed. Be cautious and watch for signs of RSV again. See your doctor is symptoms develop.

Not much: If all the mother had was a form of a common cold then nothing abnormal would happen. Some infections such as CMV, Varicella, Toxoplasmosis, Zika and others can cause issues. The common cold does not.

Yes: Yes it is. Perhaps do not take it every 3 hours but a couple times a day will not hurt unless you are allergic to echinacea. Fresh fruits (orange juice and grapefruit) also contain vitamin c. You may find Zicam works as well for you.

Pregnancy and cold: Most pregnant women do well with a having a simple viral illness like a cold, however, they are at higher risk of developing complications like pneumonia.  If you're having high fever, productive cough, feeling nauseated with muscle aches, and chills, i would absolutely check in with your OB or primary for a thorough evaluation.

Chest congestion: Chest congestion might be wheezing that is asthma.  This should be followed up right away with your son's doctor.
