i keep getting a recurrent cyst in my labia that wont pop and its very painful when its there. it comes and goes every few months. whats causing it?

Blocked Bartholin: The Bartholin's gland in the labia has a duct that opens just inside of the labia. When that duct gets blocked, the gland will swell or get infected. Washing carefully and keeping the vulva free of oils and irritating soaps will help prevent the recurrances. Sometimes the cyst has to be permanently opened in a minor surgical procedure called marsupialization of the Bartholin's gland.

i have this cyst-like growth on my left labia minora that is the size of a small peanut which is white and very painful. how can i treat this at home?

Below: You might try warm baths, 3-4 times per day, to get moist heat to the area.  Also could use moist packs instead.
Many times this will help reduce the swelling, but if this is not effective, or there is pain, worsening, then an exam will be needed.

gyn diagnosed a "sebaceous cyst" on my inner labia majora.  she said it's something i have to live with and removal is not an option because removal could cause infection.  please tell me if this is correct.  it's nearly impossible to get 2nd opinion?

: Something does not add up. We do surgery on vagina all the time and take care of the infection. Why is second opinion not possible? You do need to see a different doctor. Try the local clinic of planned parenthood, if you cannot afford a second gyn.

Get an exam: There is no way to be sure without an exam. It could be anything from Herpes to hydradenitis and many things in-between.

Do you shave?: Might be hidradenitis suppurativa. See a dermatologist.

?Shaving: If you shave your pubic hair this may cause abrasions or small cuts on the skin and may lead to infections in the hair follicles (folliculitis). Refrain from shaving or use a scissors and clip. Also, wear cotton underwear and avoid perfume scented soaps and other products in the genital area.

Without : Without knowing more, it would seem reasonabe to take some Ibuprofen and place cold packs to the area which is sore and swollen.

what can cause cysts/abscesses to form and be filled with nothing but blood - mainly around my labia and bottom. there reoccurring and always just filled with blood?

: It is difficult to diagnose your problem without exam. Pl see a Gyn. In the meantime keep the area clean, use an antibacterial soap and apply any OTC antiseptic like peroxide or betadine to the area. Hope you feel better.
