i just started taking zoloft (sertraline) and it feels like my brain is burning.. very weird. whats wrong?

Consult your doctor!: The symptoms described are not typical for sertraline (zoloft). When any new medication is first taken and almost immediately some type of unusual feeling or symptom occurs, the odds are the recently ingested medication is the likely cause. In the situation described that seems to be the case and it must be followed up especially neurologic symptoms, with a call right away to the prescribing dr.

See below: If you are taking zoloft, (sertraline) you should probably not stop and should ask your family doctor if they can prescribe it. If you have to stop, and getting brain zaps, i would advise to take 3/4 of the tablet for 1 week, then 1/2 tablet for 1 week, then 1/4 of tablet for 1 week, then stop. Just to let you know, the "zaps" are uncomfortable, but won't hurt you.

psych put me on zoloft (sertraline) 50mg increase up to 200mg slowly. i feel burning like fever in my body. my temperature is always normal. anxiety is better.

Zoloft (sertraline): Not an uncommon effect on high dose Zoloft (sertraline). Talk with your Doctor about possibly dividing the dose to twice daily.

Probably no problem: There is no known problme of ThermoHeat interacting with sertraline.  ON the other had, the interaction has not been studiied, so one can't say for certain that there will be no problem. You must proceed with no flags of danger, but without full medical endorsement.

does zoloft (sertraline) leave permanent 'marks' on your brain? even if you stopped taking it will your brain be any different once its out of your system?

NO: Zoloft (sertraline) , antidepressants in general, leave no telltale "marks" on common imaging studies (ct, mri) there maybe brief changes in certain receptors, but this would require very sophisticated imaging that would only be used in a research trial. Over time receptors are "recycled", it is doubtful that the new receptors would show evidence of medication use.

i am five days into discontinuing zoloft (sertraline). i am experiencing what some call "brain zaps". are there any remedies besides taking zoloft (sertraline) again?

Not really: You may need a more gradual dose reduction of zoloft (sertraline).  Hoping you're working with your physician on the process.
