i have ulcers in stomach. do sit ups or other abdominal exercises make it worse?

Accepted Answer

No: Stomach ulcers are an internal problem that is aggravated by the release of acid when you eat and drink.  Taking the prescribed medication by your doctor will help, small meals and darker greens helps since they are more alkaline.  If you notice that it is worse after exercise, just decrease the intensity and duration.

i have extreme pain in my upper abdomen. middle and both sides. gets worse when running. doctor suspected a ulcer a while back. put me on topzole for two months. went away now month later the pain is back. tested for bacteria negative.

Abdominal discomfort: Running, especially if not breathing correctly by not using your diaphragm properly, can cause various abdominal symptoms including upper abdominal discomfort. It's called runners' stomach. If symptoms also occur without running, it's time to consult a gastroenterologist for a workup.

i had very bad pain in my abdomen on sunday night. the pain went through to my back, i am not sure if it could be an ulcer. my stomach feels like it is upset and little pain between my shoulder blades like a wind is stuck. i am on reflux meds. ?

Abd pain: Abd pain into the back can be from the stomach (ulcer, gastritis ), intestine,  gall bladder, pancreas and often is forgotten the heart.

good day dr.i have sharp unbearable pain,on the right side of my abdomen feels like i swalloed a hot charcoal, they seem to be stemming from my stomach,i have had an ulcer before but don't understand why it's recurring as i had had treatment before?

Ulcers: Peptic ulcer disease is chronic and may recur many times. Other possibilities cannot be ruled out and your best resource remains your treating GP who can further coordinate. Ulcers can perforate and bleed and timely assessment is critical. If unable to communicate an urgent care center or ER would be appropriate in these circumstances.

does abdominal ultrasound see things like: gastritis, stomach ulcers, or gerd?

Accepted Answer

Yes and No: It can see a thickening of the stomach wall that suggests gastritis,  it can see some large ulcers, and it can see signs in the esophagus that suggest long standing gastroesphageal reflux disease.   However,  ultrasound would not be the primary method to diagnose these conditions.

i have pain in my lower abdomen when i eat chilly sauce and can feel wind when it travels in my stomach with a sharp pain - could this be ulcers ? what treatment can i seek ?

Accepted Answer

: It is unlikely the chilly sauce is causing the pain in your lower abdomen. Is it possible that the pain may be due to gas and may have to do more with the type of food you eat that may be causing gas and pain in your bowels? You may want to see a medical person to check you and better advice you as to the cause of the pain. They would also be able to check if you have ulcer.

Gas: Intestinal gas symptoms can be very widespread. Often the symptom can be helped by trying to minimize swallowing during the day. Cutting back on snack swallowing, smoking, gum chewing etc. Can help.

docter has said my abdomen pain etc is gall stones or stomach ulcer am awaiting tests but am pretty sore atm what do i do or pain relief?

Usual: if the evaluating doctor  to address your concern. Somtimes doctors considering the above diagnosis will try proton pump inhibitor or antiacid and analgesic

had a ct scan due to upper abdominal throbbing, feeling very unwell nothing abnormal found. can a ct miss some stomach issues like ulcers etc?

Accepted Answer

Yes: CT scans are not the method of choice if looking for gastric ulcers, peptic ulcers or duodenal ulcers.  You are better off having an upper endoscopy if you need to rule out ulcers.

when i looked, it was swollen and bruised. 
no injury
but i do have a stomach ulcer?

Abdominal pain: One wouldn't anticipate left lower quadrant abdominal pain for a stomach ulcer.  Consider med eval if pain is severe.
