Many things are between (or near) the belly button and the bottom of the ribs, such as:  liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen, pancreas, duodenum, transverse colon, abdominal wall muscles, etc...

Diarrhea? suggests gastroenteritis. One has to consider appendicitis. in appendicitis the pain would move to right lower side. If unrelenting pain persists for 2-3 hours go to ER

May be H pylori which needs antibiotics, or ulcer, or  gallbladder ( ultrasound) , or stricture or esosinophilic esophagitis  or gastroparesis  complications or  a mass lesion.For short term ranitidine may help but  follow up w/ doc this week
