May not be acne: Bumps on the face that hurt may be deeper-than-average acne bumps. A dermatologist can help treat them. If they are not acne, and don't come to the surface and break open to drain themselves, then the dermatologist will also be very helpful. Sometimes the doctor can open a bump to see what is inside.

Scalp?: If on the scalp, they're probably sebaceous cysts. If on the forehead, could be acne or warts.  See your doctor to get it taken care of.

Cannot diagnose: Certainly white bumps could mean infection with bacteria, possibly yeast, or even venereal warts. This  should be examined by your doc for correct diagnosis and treatment. Good,luck

Skin infection: This sounds like a skin infection which is common in that area of the head. Don't scratch or peel the skin eruptions. Clean it with soap and water, apply   Some antiseptic cream on it (no hydrocortisone !) and see your PCP soon. This infection can be very resistant and can rapidly spread.

Cyst.: Cyst - epidermal inclusion or trichilemmal. Could be a minor skin infection although unlikely in this area without one of the above cysts being irritated.

We need to know more about the nature and history of the "bumps"..Such as....When did they begin?...Where are they, what do they look like...How long do they last....Have you had them before...Anyone around you have them....Predisposing health factors...Etc...Best to see your family doc or a dermatologist soon...For a good history and physical exam.
