i have a pain behind my left eye every ime i bend over. ?

Get sinus evaluation: Pain when bending over may be due to increased pressure on the face and eye.  You may consider a sinus issue as the cause of the pain.  Sinus congestion or sinusitis (sinus inflammation) can cause the feeling of pain behind the eye, even though the eye is not the source of the pain.  If the eye itself is red or the vision is blurry, then ocular causes of pain have to be considered.

i have a pain behind my right eye that started 2 days ago. it comes and goes. it lasts seconds and occurs every few hours. any ideas? no other symptoms. last eye check january this year. could it be eye strain?

: You are at about the age when the lens in the eye is not so easily compressed, but usually that would be picked by the ophthamologist or optician, it is possible that you might have pain from changes in the blood vessels impacting a nerve. This can frequently cause migraines. I suggest seeing a neurologist.  Best wishes.

Eye pain: You should see an ophthalmologist (M.D.). If you have seen one already, get a second opinion from another one.  A good one, even if their exam is normal, will be able to lead you in the right direction. Keep trying!

Ophthalmologist: These prolonged symptoms warrant an evaluation by an ophthalmologist to check for orbital or retroorbital pathology including a tumor or a type of glaucoma. An MRI may be advised.  If no eye pathology is found sinusitis is a possibility and can be seen on an MRI.

Dryness: Usually, tranisent sharp (stabbing) pains are caused by extreme dryness.  Certainly problems such as foreign bodies or corneal irregularities can be problems as well.  Try artificial tears for some relief - if this works it is the likely cause.  See you ophthalmologist for long-term solutions.

if there is a decrease in your vision, seek medical treatment.

See eye dr urgently: While you are young for a disease called temporal arteritis.  It is serious enough and potentially blinding if you have it.  Need to go to an ophthalmologist urgently to have a complete eye work up.

Get checked.: Any headache  that makes you feel "out of it," if new to you, is worrying.  Please get examined promptly.  If you still have pain, get seen now.

Pain behind eye: If you have pain when you move the eye, swelling or vision changes, please get evaluated by a physician sooner rather than later. This might also simply be.a  headache. Have you tried treating it with anything?

Eye pain: Pain behind the eye can be associated with infection, mass or inflammation to optic nerve.  Could be primary eye problem.  For example glaucoma can be a cause for eye pain and some people feel it is behind the eye.
