Disc: A number of things could cause these symptoms.  It could be from a bulging or herniated disk in your neck or a number of other things.  You would need a medical evaluation with physical exam.  Good luck.

Myofascial Pain: If you are having a lot of stress, bad posture, weak muscles (muscle imbalance) then this may be secondary to myofascial (muscle pain). If the pain down the arm is shooting-like and associated with numbness and weakness then it might be a herniated disc pinching a nerve in the spine. Visit your doctor for an evaluation, imaging and treatment as needed.

i woke up with a sharp pain in the front of my right shoulder. hurt with movement. as the day went on i noticed that if i crossed my right arm across my body i would feel sharp stabbing pain just to the right of the center of my chest and upper back.

Costochondritis: you have pain on you chest wall and upper torso that is reproducible with movement. it is most like musculoskeletal in origin.  That is from the muscle or bone is your chest wall.

What did you do?: Did you have trauma or injure the arm. First of all need a good history. Now since the pain has persisted see your doctor for exam. You may need further testing

Have it checked out: It may be a good idea to go to an osteopathic physician, and have you checked out structurally and treated osteopathically. It would be good to see if it is of musculoskeletal cause or not, especially around the rotary cuff.  S/he might need to do further imaging to see what is happening.

Backpain: Right shoulder pain most probably muscular, if have noticed association with gas, you identified the cause and treat it accordingly.  If the pain continues to be intense, see your physician.

Cervical/upper back: Is there any history of herniated or bulging cervical discs? Are you pushing up from a seated position with your arms to stand? Postural problems that can cause pain under the scapula include poor ergonomic posture at computer, carrying laptop or bag or child on one side or in front, driving long dist., lifting weights, sleep positions.
