Irregular periods: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

You may have had: A menstrual period and an episode of breakthrough bleeding which can be caused by imbalances of estrogen ; progesterone. If you actually had a period then you are not pregnant. If uncertain - you can always take a pregnancy test.

Pregnancy unlikely: A woman who has recently had a normal regular period is not pregnant. A woman who is using a contraceptive shot does not get pregnant except on rare occasions. Condoms prevent pregnancy quite well. Therefore, when all 3 things happen at the same time, pregnancy is very unlikely. If still worried, one can just do a home pregnancy test, at least 3 weeks after sex.

Trying to get preg: Sometimes birth control masks underlying problems... When you stop taking the pills the abnormal periods come back...Use ovulation kits to figure out when the best time is to conceive and try taking Motrin to relieve cramps and decrease bleeding.

Yes, if unprotected: Yes, you could be pregnant if you engage in unprotected sex. Some women report implantation bleeding which might account for 2nd period. Trying to conceive: Best bit of advice when trying to conceive is to start prenatal vitamins before actually getting pregnant. Extra folic acid lowers risk for neural tube defects. 2nd best advice: enjoy yourself. Well, that and eat right, exercise regularly &amp; get plenty of sleep. What I mean by enjoy yourself is to not stress about timing sex around ovulation etc. It can normally take up to a year to get pregnant.

Two periods a month: Always check a pregnancy test because some women can have spotting, even bleeding like a period, in early pregnancy - so if your bleeding pattern seems abnormal it is important to check for possible pregnancy.  As you are doing, it is very good to track your periods on a calendar or App, very helpful to the doctor.
